Vipawa Mineral Resources Sarl

The metals and minerals we rely on in our everyday life is staggering. If you really take a moment to think about it, look around to observe the objects you are surrounded by that are not manufactured by plant-based resources. From the cement you walk on to the screen you are reading; our world and our way of life depends on the products of modern mining practices.

One must note that Africa is home to about 30 per cent of the world’s total mineral reserves and a significant share of the global production of economically important minerals and metals. In many sub-Saharan African countries, the mining sector makes an important contribution to foreign exchange earnings, government revenues, employment and gross domestic product.

Prestiga Resources (Pty) Ltd, with a collective experience of forty-five years in the mining industry, is committed to also contribute to the development of African economies through the mining sector, however small its contribution may be. After carefully studying the sector and drawing on collective experience, Prestiga Resources (Pty) Ltd had resolved to create and form Vipawa Minerals Resources Sarl in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

WHY THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO?

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), about the size of Western Europe, is the largest country in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). DRC is endowed with exceptional natural resources, including minerals such as cobalt and copper, hydropower potential, significant arable land, immense biodiversity, and the world’s second-largest rainforest.

Because of its size, natural resources, and geo-political importance, the DRC has the potential to become a top contributor to African economic growth and stability. Strategically located at the center of the African continent and sharing borders with nine countries, the DRC is the second-largest country in Africa with the fourth-largest population. Its unparalleled natural resource wealth includes cobalt, copper, gold, tantalum, tin, diamonds, petroleum, and water.

Prestiga Resources (Pty) Ltd believes that with its humble contribution in the mining sector from the Democratic Republic of Congo, we can also continue to participate in the development of the African continent and systematically promote African economic diversification by reinvesting in other important areas.

Vipawa Mineral resources Sarl does:

  1. Mineral exploration,
  2. Mining for precious and nonprecious metals and minerals, as well as energy commodities like coal and petroleum,
  3. Extraction of precious minerals and other geological materials,
  4. Transformation of mined products in a mineralized form that serves an economic benefit to Vipawa Mineral Resources Sarl, Prestiga Resources (Pty) Ltd, Associates, and the communities where we work.
  5. Metals trading.

Fennec Limited

Gold has always been a key investment option for many across the world. However, when do investors look at gold and why? The yellow metal has often been seen as the go-to option whenever there have been recessionary tendencies. Whenever the stock markets take a downturn or collapse, gold rises in demand, and more investors look for it.

The remote regions of western Kenya near Lake Victoria are rich in gold ore. Most of the country’s artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) activities are carried out in these rural areas, where mining and subsistence agriculture are the major ways of earning a living.

Prestiga Resources (Pty) Ltd, with its Investment Associates, have resolved to contribute to the gold mining inudtry in Kenya. This is WHY, with local Partners, they have been a creation of Fennec Ltd.

The vision of Fennec Ltd is to be the leading, innovative gold mining Company in the Republic of Kenya with regard to security, environment, operational efficiency and effectiveness, financial return and the positive impact we will have in the communities we will be operating in.

Fennec Ltd will soon undertake geological assessment in the County of Migori.
